It has gone bad and Robbie is not going to have it. It seemed that Tim was getting beside himself and taking matters in his own hands that was proving to cause conflict and hurt the family business. The situation in LA was nothing more than a disaster now this latest epic fail!
Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s’ reality star Tim Norman has responded to the lawsuit his mother, Robbie Montgomery, hit him with last week. The two are entangled in a lawsuit over trademark infringement and misappropriation of funds after he opened an eatery called TJ’s Sweetie Pie’s NOHO.
In the lawsuit, Ms. Robbie claims “the fact Defendant Norman is identified as a member of Miss Robbie’s family on the Sweetie Pie’s Show, along with his position on the show, further increases the potential of causing confusion in the market place,” reports The Grio. Ms. Robbie’s suit also claims TJ is damaging her brand because of bad eatery reviews in addition to stealing money from the Montgomery, AL restaurant location.
Norman says that outsiders are “manipulating” his mother and that he wants to keep his family and family business together. He told the website TheYBF.com his side of the story.
“In this turn of events, unfortunately, outsiders appear to be misguiding and manipulating my mother to sell our family business,” said Norman. “It’s complicated, to say the least, as we have joint interest in various facets of the Sweetie Pies brand. I have to stay true to our brand and our business and I truly hope this disagreement can be settled between my mother and me.
“I have always, and will always, want what is best for my mother, our family, and our people,” Tim said. “This is the risk of doing business with loved ones and I am hopeful for swift resolution.”
Norman also told TheYBF.com that the partners tried to work it out without litigating, but negotiations broke down. His attorney, Mary Ann L. Wymore Greensfelder, told the website that the allegations against Norman were “meritless.”
“While we strongly encouraged Ms. Montgomery’s attorneys to work with us to attempt to resolve this family dispute pre-litigation, they refused to do so,” she said in a statement.
Montgomery is suing Norman for unspecified damages and is demanding a jury trial on the matter.
