21 Savage is still in ICE custody despite previous reports saying that he had been released on bond after spending more than a week at an Atlanta detention center.
The rapper was granted a release on bond Tuesday afternoon and is expected to be released after a deportation hearing that’s scheduled for Wednesday, TMZreports.
“It’s a good day for She’yaa and everyone else that is locked up that shouldn’t be,” 21’s lawyer Alex Spiro said.
The rap star was arrested on Feb. 3 during a targeted ICE operation, with officials shocking all of his fans when they releases a statement clarifying that Savage was a United Kingdom national.

His lawyers Charles H. Kuck, Dina Lapolt, and Spiro released the following statement to fans:
“21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters—he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together.”
The statement from 21’s legal team ends with, “He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.”
Last week, Jay-Z announced that his company, Roc Nation, had enlisted legal assistance for the young artist.
Roc Nation issued a statement following reports of his release.
“We are pleased that 21 Savage was released on bond and will be reunited with his children after his incarceration. We will continue to stand with 21 Savage and all the families that continue to be unfairly victimized by our country’s broken immigration policies.”
21 Savage is said to be in the process of getting a U-Visa as a victim of a crime, which would grant him legal residency in the U.S., the report states.
