Everything Is Going Down, But The Word Of God……
Cordell Jenkins (pictured on the left in the above picture), one of the Toledo pastors accused of child sex trafficking, has plead guilty in U.S. District Court. According to court filings, Jenkins has pleaded guilty to two counts of child sex trafficking and one count of exploitation of children during a court appearance on Tuesday. The plea carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. He will face sentencing at a later date.
Jenkins was scheduled to go to trial in the case next week, along with his co-defendants, Anthony Haynes and Laura Lloyd, Jenkins’ ex-wife.
Jenkins served as a pastor at Abundant Life Ministries in Toledo before he was charged with child sex trafficking, production of child pornography, and other charged. Haynes faces the same charges while Lloyd is accused of obstructing that investigation. Jenkins was extremely close to Marvin Winans and practically second in command of the Prefecting Fellowship started by Marvin.
Jenkins previously refused a plea deal, choosing instead to face trial for his charges. No word yet on why he may have decided to change his plea.
Last week, Haynes filed a motion to have his trial severed from that of Jenkins and Lloyd, and postponed to a later date. A judge has not yet ruled on that motion.
