Obnoxious Media has just been informed that Bishop Micheal Spires passed away about 30 minutes ago. Keep his wife Doris, their daughters, and Church of Atlanta Lighthouse in your prayers. Many of you all will recall his becoming well known when he married David Justice and Hally Berry.
Bishop Michael D. Spires accepted Christ at an early age, which led to his preaching at the age of 17. Recognized as a true servant of the Lord, Bishop Spires accepted the awesome responsibility as Pastor of Church of Atlanta Lighthouse, Inc. in 1972. With God’s divine intervention, a congregation of 15 members is now well over 1000. Having the heart of a true pastor, teacher, evangelist and missionary, Bishop Spires has been proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ internationally for over 40 years.
In 1992, he was set into the office of Bishop. As Bishop, he has established Lighthouse International Ministries. Currently, more than 20 ministers have affiliated their ministries with Lighthouse International Ministries, Inc.
Bishop Michael D. Spires has been married to Pastor Doris Spires for 52 years and is the father of two daughters, Sheri and Robyn. He is also the proud Grandfather of 4 wonderful grandchildren.
Pastor Spires has many responsibilities at the Church of Atlanta Lighthouse. Since 1972 she has been Secretary & Treasurer for the Church.
She was youth director for several years and saw much spiritual growth in the youth. Many are now in Ministry and still going forth in God.
She founded L.I.F.T. (Ladies in Fellowship Together) in 1996. She has a passion to encourage women to meet together and share Sister to Sister.
She was set into the Office of Pastor in 2002 and has filled that office successfully.
She has been married to Bishop Spires for 48 years and is the mother of two daughters (Sheri & Robyn) and grandmother of four grandchildren (Alejandro, Caleb, Aaron and Allison).
She truly loves God and God’s people and has a burning desire to see people blessed both naturally and spiritually and her daily prayer is to continue allowing God to use her to bless others.
August 3, 2008 Elder Tim McKibbins was set in the Office of Pastor and Pastor Doris Spires then became Senior Pastor of Church of Atlanta Lighthouse.
