Obnoxious Media would like to congratulate Blake Sims on being signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Falcons!
Obnoxious Sports……Blake Sims is now a member of an NFL team.The Atlanta Falcons signed the former Alabama quarterback to their practice squad Tuesday, a source told AL.com.
They signed Sims as a running back, which he played early in his college career before moving to quarterback.
Sims worked out for the Falcons last week.
This is the first paid NFL opportunity for Sims, who threw for 3,487 yards and 28 touchdowns while leading the Tide to an SEC championship and to a berth in the College Football Playoff semifinals as a redshirt senior in 2014.
Sims wasn’t selected during last year’s NFL draft. He participated in the Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins rookie minicamps last year on a tryout basis, but wasn’t signed by either team.
