Sad news for Jim Carrey. The actor confirmed on Tuesday that his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Cathriona White, 28, has died in an apparent suicide.
“I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona,” Carey, 53, told Us Weekly. “She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”
White, a makeup artist born in Ireland, died from a suspected suicide on Monday, and was found in her Sherman Oaks, California, home. She allegedly left behind a note that implied the couple’s recent split had something to do with it.
The couple first met in 2012 and had gone back-and-forth on their relationship for years. They rekindled their romance this past May before splitting again just last week.
