Jesus, meet Judas. Judas, meet Jesus.
Fox has just announced casting on two major roles for The Passion, its upcoming live Biblical musical. Telenovela star Jencarlos Canela will be tackling the role of Jesus Christ, while American Idol alum Chris Daughtry will infamously betray him as the disciple Judas.
The pair join previously announced host and narrator Tyler Perry, as well as cast members Trisha Yearwood (Mary, mother of Jesus) and Prince Royce (the disciple Peter). The special will air live Palm Sunday, March 20.
Canela is hardly the first hunk to bring Jesus to life on TV in recent years. NBC’s A.D. tapped Juan Pablo di Pace for the role in 2015, replacing History’s Hot Jesus from The Bible, Diogo Morgado. (So many Hot Jesuses, so little time!)
Set in modern day, The Passion will tell the story of Jesus of Nazareth, as he presides over the Last Supper, and then is betrayed by Judas, put on trial by Pontius Pilate, convicted, crucified and resurrected. The special event will film live on location in New Orleans, while featuring a procession of hundreds of people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenberg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River.

The Passion airs live Sunday, March 20 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
