Serena Williams shockingly lost her chance at winning the U.S. Open when Roberta Vinci beat her in the semi-finals on Sept. 11. Serena’s rumored new guy, Drake, showed up to the match, and now fans are blaming him for Serena’s loss. Say what?!
Whoa. Did Drake, 28, jinx Serena Williams’ chances at winning the U.S. Open by supporting her at the match? On Sept. 11, Serena, 33, lost to Roberta Vinci, 32, in the semi-finals. After the jaw-dropping loss, fans exploded on Twitter and believe the Drake curse is alive and well!
It seems like Drake is a bad luck charm. Drake attended Serena’s highly-anticipated match-up, and she coincidentally lost after dominating her previous U.S. Open matches. Fans seem to believe there’s only one reason Serena could have lost this match: Drake.
However, this isn’t the first time Drake’s bad juju has caused rotten luck in sports. One of his favorite teams, the Toronto Raptors, lost in the first round of the playoffs in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. Serena’s rumored new man is also a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, who just so happened to lose in the Final Four of the 2015 NCAA tournament after being undefeated the entire season.
We feel so bad for Serena. It’s always tough to lose, especially when you’re so close to the top. Hopefully she doesn’t get on Twitter and search “Drake.” Because then she might start blaming Drake too!
Obnoxious Readers, do you think Drake is to blame for Serena’s loss? Let us know!
